2026
In October 2026, the Climate Crisis Cabaret joined annual HONK! Festival in Somerville, MA.
On Saturday at ArtHONK!, the CCC performed “Battle for the Future of the Earth” and engaged festival participants with an energetic face-off between the forces of money, misinformation, and endless oil drilling and a group of activists and scientists trying to save the planet. A few members of the group joined Earth for All in the parade on Sunday!
2025
In October 2025, Climate Crisis Cabaret joined The 20th annual HONK! Festival of Activist Street Bands, which took place over two days in Somerville and Cambridge, MA. We protested the war on science, with a theme of “Climate Science Saves Lives.”
CCC member Debra Wise performed the role of Diane, an avatar of Dionysus, in the climate play Hurricane Diane. Other members provided information about climate science.
During the Honk! parade, CCC members wearing white lab coats joined the street bands and protesters to march for two miles under the banner “Climate Science Saves Lives.”
We engaged in vocal battle with our antagonists, Miss Information and Miss Communication, who were trying to spread lies, slanders and “alternative facts” among the parade-watchers.
