Our Equinox celebration at the Somerville Community Growing Center was lively and engaging, bringing the community together to find possibility in a time of climate crisis.
The group premiered two new short works, with performances by actors of all ages.
Science of the Equinox
Robert Lauer called for audience participation as he clarified what the equinox is in astronomical terms, inviting one audience member to play the role of the sun. Read more from NASA about this phenomenon.
Battle for the Future of the Earth
The Fossil Fuel Gang vs Earth Warriors
In this lively tug-of-war over the future of the planet, planet plunderers such as Mr. Moneybags and Miss Information faced off with a group of scientists as the temperature of the earth visually changed to show the consequences. The final result was a tie, leaving it to the audience to envision a way forward.
